Oregon County VINE Coverage
Missouri’s automated program is MOVANS, short for Missouri Victim Automated Notification System. VINELink is the public multijurisdictional interface. MODOC confirms that its state-prison notification service covers events such as parole hearings and results, release to the community, escape, and death. The automated function can also provide an institution, a parole-hearing date, and scheduled release dates when those data are available.
The Oregon County distinction is important. Official county pages do not say that the eight-bed Oregon County Jail feeds VINE. County-jail participation must be confirmed by finding the agency in the live Missouri facility search or calling the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office at 417-778-6611. A promised Oregon County jail alert would be unsupported until that check succeeds.
MODOC/MOVANS coverage is confirmed for the state system. BOP, the U.S. Marshals Service, and ICE are outside this state and local VINE route. A person transferred from Oregon County Jail to MODOC may appear through the state service. A person handed to a federal agency must be traced through that federal custodian instead.
Important: VINELink reports data sent by participating agencies. It is not the certified Oregon County release record, and an update may lag the event.
Search Oregon County Inmates on VINELink
Open the VINELink public interface and select Missouri before entering a name. The state choice matters because the same name may occur in several jurisdictions. Choose the people or offender custody search, not a general resource page. Use an agency identifier when known and add the first name to reduce false matches.
- Open the Missouri-specific entry, or select Missouri from the state list.
- Choose the people or offender custody search.
- Enter at least the last name. Add a first name or agency ID when available.
- Compare age or birth information, facility, identifier, and other descriptors.
- Open only the record that matches more than the person’s name.
- Read the custody status, location, status date, and reporting agency exactly as shown.
- When a recent-release result appears, note the date and confirm it with that custodian.
A name alone is weak evidence. Aliases, suffixes, spelling differences, and common names can produce a miss or the wrong person. When several results appear, compare the agency, identification number, and personal descriptors before opening the record. The screen is a search and notification entry point. It does not establish that the Oregon County Jail itself participates until the live agency listing confirms that fact.
Oregon County VINE Release Fields
VINELink contains people currently in custody or recently released when a participating agency supplies the record. A matching result should be read as a set of fields, not as a single release label. The exact wording on the live record controls. Do not change a scheduled date into an actual release date or treat a facility change as a community exit.

A recently released result can remain for a limited period, but no Oregon County retention window was documented. A later disappearance does not prove release. The record could age out, an alias might have been used, an agency may not participate, or data may still be moving between systems.
Note: Record the reporting agency and status date because those details tell you whom to contact and what event still needs confirmation.
Register Oregon County VINE Notifications
Registration begins only after the correct person record is open. The controls and event list can vary by agency and channel, so use what the current Missouri screen offers. Release, transfer, and other custody-change events may be selectable. Telephone, text, email, or application notice may appear as delivery choices.
- Open the correctly matched record and select Get Notified or the current registration control.
- Choose the offered event types, including release or custody change when available.
- Select an offered delivery method, such as phone, text, email, or app notification.
- Enter the destination and complete any verification step shown.
- Create a four-digit PIN when the selected method requires one.
- Confirm and save the registration, then retain the PIN and registration details.
- For a telephone alert, enter the PIN followed by # when prompted to acknowledge the call.
MODOC explains that MOVANS calls continue until the recipient enters the personally selected PIN. The acknowledgement stops repeat calls for that event. The PIN may also be needed to change a registration, so it should be kept in a safe place. Email, text, and app steps may use a different confirmation method.
No Oregon County-specific PIN format, delivery time, or retry schedule is published. Do not assume one. A notification is a prompt to call or request the record. It does not replace the jail release entry, MODOC movement record, or Board decision.
Oregon County VINE Result Limits
A failed search has several possible causes. Check the spelling, alias, identifier, and Missouri selection first. Then confirm that the relevant county jail or state facility participates for that event. A recent booking or release may not have propagated. The record may also have aged out of the recently released view.
For a county-jail matter, call the Oregon County Sheriff and ask whether the person remains in custody. If not, ask for the release date, release category, and receiving agency when the event was a transfer. Request the booking-and-release entry when exact time, reason, or destination matters. Missouri Case.net can explain a bond order, sentence, dismissal, or warrant, but it does not prove when the jail completed the physical exit.
The official Oregon County Jail page identifies the local custodian but does not publish a name-search roster or release log. Its administration page identifies the records-custodian role. These local channels matter when VINELink has no record, when participation cannot be confirmed, or when a caller needs the exact classification of an Oregon County departure.
For a state sentence, use MODOC Offender Search. It covers active offenders, probationers, and parolees, but excludes discharged offenders. A state institutional assignment means the person left Oregon County Jail without leaving incarceration. A field-supervision assignment can mean the person left prison but remains under MODOC authority.

Oregon County Victim Advocate Support
Oregon County has a local human support layer in addition to automated state notices. The Sheriff’s Office names Victim’s Advocate Kelly Potter and describes help with case-status updates and court accompaniment. The official Victim’s Advocate page is the direct county source for that service.
The county page does not advertise a separate Oregon County SAVIN system and does not promise automated local release alerts. The advocate may help a person navigate local case information, while MOVANS and VINELink provide the automated state mechanism where coverage exists. These roles should not be merged. The advocate is not the custody database, and VINELink is not a substitute for local case support.
When Oregon County Jail VINE participation is unclear, ask the sheriff whether the jail currently reports to the service and which events it sends. A live facility listing is better evidence than a general assumption that all county jails participate.
Local case help also differs from a court record. Missouri Case.net can show public docket events such as bond action, disposition, sentence, or later warrant activity. The advocate can help with navigation, but the court remains the source for its docket and the sheriff remains the source for the jail’s physical release event.
State and Federal Release Checks
A released county detainee, a released state prisoner, and a former federal prisoner require different sources. VINELink can support a participating county or MODOC custody check. It does not cover BOP or ICE. The custody chain controls which agency has the next record.

“Not in custody” in one system is narrow. It does not prove freedom from all custody or supervision. A county departure can be a transfer to MODOC, another sheriff, or ICE. A prison release can begin parole or conditional release. Confirm the destination and the event with the agency that held the person.
For federal prison, search by register number when known and compare the displayed release date with the federal case. For ICE, an A-number plus country of birth is the more specific search route. If no immigration result appears, verify spelling and country details, then contact ICE because some people are not displayed and updates are not instant. None of these federal results should be folded into an Oregon County VINE result.
Note: Use VINE for timely awareness, then use the originating agency’s record for the exact release type, time, and destination.
